Rubio-Trump “Starving the Cuban People,” Creating “Ludicrous Pretext” for Invasion

Common Dreams reports in “Trump Admin Claims of Cuban Plans for Drone Attacks Denounced as ‘Ludicrous Pretext’ for War” that: “Cuban officials said the Trump administration is making ‘increasingly implausible accusations’ against the country as it pushes to justify, ‘without any excuse, a military attack against Cuba,’ after an unnamed White House official told the news outlet Axios that the Cubans have been ‘discussing plans’ to launch drones against the U.S.

“’Cuba is the country under attack,’ said the Cuban embassy in a statement, months into a ramped-up oil blockade by the U.S. that has left the island’s electric grid in a ‘critical state’ and forced frequent rolling blackouts as well as causing a healthcare crisis, with tens of thousands of people waiting for surgeries.”

Early has visited Cuba many times over the last 45 years, including earlier this year. He is the former Smithsonian Institution assistant secretary for education and public service. He recently participated in a forum on the “International Crisis in Cuba” organized by the Pan African Unity Dialogue of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century. He stresses the U.S. government’s attempt to oust the Cuban government by “starving the Cuban people” and imposing a “blockage against medicine, fuel, food.” He also highlights the actions of Marco Rubio in driving U.S. policy — and the role the African American community can play.
