  • Nobel Committee Pushes to Target Venezuela

Venezuelan politician María Corina Machado won the Nobel Peace Prize Friday morning.  DAVID SWANSON, [email protected], @davidcnswanson    Swanson is executive director of World Beyond War and campaign coordinator for RootsAction.     He just wrote the piece “Nobel Committee Tried Its Best to Give Trump a Peace Prize,” which states: Trump is not the right type of warmonger. Nobody could do it with a straight face. Zelensky was saying he’d support Trump for the peace prize if Trump were to send him long-range missiles with which to start World War III. …     “But the Nobel Committee did the next best thing, and must be hoping in…

  • Israeli-Palestinian Agreement

“While it is likely to save numerous lives, at least for the time being, and should be welcomed for that reason alone, it is hardly a peace agreement nor one that lays the basis for attaining Palestinian rights.”

  • Palestinian Prisoners, Propaganda Stressed by Gaza Flotilla Members

    * It’s up to the people of the world “to shut down this war machine.” He cited the general strikes in Italy and moves to use Uniting for Peace: “We have to use every tool that we have.”

  • Taxpayers File Legal Charges Over Gaza Genocide Against U.S. Government

“The groups assert that the United States government — through the actions of both the Biden and Trump administrations, as well as Congress — has been “complicit in Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and has violated its binding obligations under the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man. This is the only legal complaint in the world that directly takes on the U.S. government as a whole for its leading role in the genocide. The complaint is born of grief, outrage, and a refusal to accept that human life can be erased with impunity.”

  • Working-Class Voters on “Key Issues”

A new study from the Center for Working-Class Politics and Jacobin analyzed three comprehensive surveys in U.S. political science, revealing where “working-class voters stand on key issues.” The study found that “the message is clear: economic populism must be the core of progressive appeals to workers.” The data spans from 1960 to 2022, tracking long-term shifts in working-class attitudes across six issue domains: immigration, civil rights, social norms, environmental policy, and two categories of economic policy.

  • Israel’s Slaughter Continues

On Friday, Trump called for Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza” and on Saturday said he appreciated “Israel has temporarily stopped the bombing.” Mosab Abu Toha noted then: “President Trump just claimed that Israel has temporarily stopped bombing Gaza. No, Mr. Trump. They haven’t. Please, take a few minutes to check reliable news sources, not just the information provided by those actively committing war crimes, the same ones you are funding and defending.” He provided the number of the dead at various hospitals. And he showed a video of a baby killed after Trump’s order. He then learned that on Saturday, Israel killed a second cousin of his, Abdallah Talal…

  • What Does the Public Think of RFK Jr.?

Polling shows that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s net approval rating declined from -11 percentage points in March 2025 to -21 points in September. CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten suggests that Kennedy’s approval rating has dropped because the public does not “like him on vaccines.”

  • Disruption at Port Elizabeth: “The Nonviolent Way to Stop a Genocide Is to Stop the Shipment of Weapons”

“This site exports weapons used by Israel to kill Palestinians in Gaza, shipped by Maersk and ZIM. In addition, it is one of the largest weapons exporters on the East coast. Supplying these weapons for Israel’s genocide is a blatant violation of the U.S. War Crimes Act, the Leahy law, The Foreign Assistance Act, Arms Export Control Act, and The Genocide Convention Implementation Act. To uphold these laws and prevent unlawful weapons shipments, protestors peacefully came to uphold all U.S. and international laws pertaining to genocide.”

  • * Israel Illegally Attacks Flotilla * Italy: Mass Strike

“We now have a verdict. Vox populi vox dei as the ancient Romans used to say (the voice of the people is the voice of God). … Will Italian popular masses start enacting a people’s embargo and drag their political class to institutionalize it? The answer is a resounding yes, at least for the People’s Embargo.”

  • * Palestinian Push for Colombia Initiative * Pope Asked to Atone for His Stance on Gaza on Yom Kippur

Palestinian factions largely see Trump’s “peace plan” as a farce. Crafted by Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, and Benjamin Netanyahu’s aides with no Palestinian input, it ties food and medicine to Hamas’s surrender and hands Gaza to a foreign “viceroy.”

  • University Protests

“During the hearing, you were asked about the political views of specific professors and encouraged to take disciplinary action, including termination, against them. Such clear retaliation for First-Amendment protected speech would be prohibited at a state institution. Although Columbia University is a private institution not governed by the First Amendment, the role of state actors…

  • UAW Launching Union Wave?

“In two prior union elections in Chattanooga, the UAW was unable to move the needle enough to win, losing the first time, 626-712, and on a second try in 2019, 776-833. The U.S. remained the only country in the world where Volkswagen workers were non-union. Things began to change in 2022, when Volkswagen expanded the…

  • Billions More for Israel as It Attacks West Bank

Jarrar, advocacy director at Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), said: “Members of Congress should understand that approving more military aid could subject them to personal liability for aiding and abetting an ongoing genocide in Gaza.”

  • Government Compelling Private Universities to “Pledge of Allegiance” to Israel; Universities Disciplined Students for Rallies

“What we are seeing now is only the latest manifestation of a longstanding campaign to try to redefine the term ‘anti-Semitism’ — to take it away from the dictionary meaning that worked very well for a long time, and to turn it into something else. Under the new definition, anti-Semitism includes criticism of Zionism and…

  • “Terrifying” “Make Everyone A Spy” Amendment Provokes Outrage

“As we have said for months, the Make Everyone A Spy provision is recklessly broad and a threat to democracy itself. It is simply stunning that the administration and House Intelligence Committee do not have a single answer for how frighteningly broad this provision is. While the Department of Justice wants us to believe that…

  • NSA, Palantir “Feed Israel’s Killing Machine in Gaza”

“Now, with Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza, critical information from NSA continues to be used by Unit 8200, according to a number of sources, to target tens of thousands of Palestinians for death — often with U.S.-supplied 2,000-pound bombs and other weapons. And it is extremely powerful data-mining software, such as that from Palantir, that…

  • “Iran’s Attack and Prospects for Regional War”

“Yesterday’s attack failed to inflict any serious damage on Israel. This was no accident. Iran expected this result. It warned the U.S. in advance of its plans. Unlike Israel, [the Iranian government] exercised calculated restraint.” The Iranian government told the U.S. government “through back-channels what it intended. It negotiated an understanding with the U.S. about what the…
