DeCamp is news editor of Antiwar.com and host of “Antiwar News with Dave DeCamp.” He recently wrote the pieces “Israeli Forces Kill at Least 37 Palestinians in Gaza,” “Smotrich Says Trump Victory Gives Israel ‘Opportunity’ to Annex West Bank” and “U.S. Bombs ‘Iranian-Aligned’ Targets in Syria.”

Much of his recent reporting focuses on the choices by incoming president Trump. Media outlets are reporting Trump is expected to nominate Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.

Rubio is a well known supporter of Israel, a hawk on Iran and China who has also falsely claimed Iraq was in violation of UN Security Council resolutions to justify the invasion of that country, which Trump has claimed he opposed.

Rubio has also urged overthrowing Latin American governments, at one point posting a graphic image of Gaddafi’s murder in an apparent threat to Venezuela’s Maduro.

DeCamp just wrote the piece “Trump Nominates Rep. Elise Stefanik as Ambassador to UN,” “Stefanik is a staunch Israel supporter and Iran hawk who has said there should be no conditions on U.S. military aid to Israel. ‘There is no excuse for an American president to block aid to Israel,’ Stefanik told the Israeli Knesset earlier this year in a speech where she bashed President Biden for delaying a single shipment of 2,000-pound bombs.

“Stefanik led the charge against college students protesting against U.S. support for Israel, smearing them as ‘antisemitic’ for opposing Israel’s onslaught in Gaza even though many demonstrators were Jewish themselves. …

“Stefanik was first elected to Congress in 2014. Before that, she worked for hawkish think tanks, including the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and the Foreign Policy Initiative, which was founded by neoconservatives Bill Kristol and Robert Kagan.”

In “Trump Picks Rep. Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor” DeCamp writes: “Waltz is a staunch supporter of Israel and has repeated Trump’s calls to allow Israel to ‘finish the job’ in Gaza….

“Waltz was a staunch supporter of the Ukraine proxy war early on and was one of the few members of Congress to suggest the US send ‘military advisors’ into the country. He was also critical of President Biden for supposedly not being aggressive enough. …

“Waltz argued in [a recent] Economist essay that the U.S. is too bogged down in the Middle East and Ukraine and should be more focused on China. He is known as one of the biggest China hawks in Congress, declaring back in 2021 that the U.S. was in a Cold War with China.”

Rubio, Stefanik and Waltz have all gotten substantial funds from pro-Israel groups.
