This weekend, these activists are protesting outside the AJC’s annual “Global Forum” in Washington, D.C. Solomon is author of two books on Zionism, The Miasma of Unity: Jews and Israel and The Speech, and Its Context: Jacob Blaustein’s Speech “The Meaning of Palestine Partition to American Jews.”
He said today: “As in much of AJC activities these days, this AJC ‘Global Forum’ intentionally confuses the welfare of Jewish people in the USA and around the world — the AJC mission since 1906 — with the success of the Zionist project in Palestine to dominate resident non-Jews.
“With a rhetorical carelessness, the AJC combines the fight for human rights for Jews with whitewashing Israel’s human rights violations, massacres, and destruction of communities under its control in the occupied territories of Palestine. Israel is now again attempting a land grab of south Lebanon, methodically blowing up evacuated villages so that Lebanese have no homes to return to.”
