The statement: “Five Demands to Stop the Genocide Against the Palestinian People” was just released, signed by numerous groups including Pax Christi International, Global Exchange and the International Fellowship of Reconciliation. Mottern is with the Global Solidarity for Peace in Palestine network which organized the statement, which concludes:

1. Total withdrawal of Israeli military forces from the Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories and a complete end to all violence against the Palestinian people as per UNGA Resolution ES 16 September 2024 and full access for the global press to the occupied Palestinian territories.

2. Full access to the Gaza Strip through all checkpoints for shipments of food, medicine, shelter, sanitary services and other necessities of life. These should be solely under UN and Palestinian control, as called for in multiple UN resolutions.

3. Immediate release of all Palestinian political prisoners, including Marwan Barghouti, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and women and children.

4. Full international implementation of the ban of weapons shipments to Israel and honoring of the recommendations of the Palestinian-led BDS Movement by citizens, businesses, public institutions and governments.

5. A complete end to extremist, illegal settler violence and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in close collusion and under direction of the Israeli military. These unfair, unjust, illegal and neo-colonialist policies and plans must end immediately!
