Flotilla, After Being Attacked, Sailing to Gaza

[Today, the U.N. Independent Commission of Inquiry issued its detailed report of findings concluding that the Israeli regime has committed and is continuing to commit genocide in Palestine. See video and New York Times piece, “My U.N. Commission’s Finding: Israel Is Committing Genocide.” Craig Mokhiber comments: “There has never been a clearer case of genocide, and never a more complete global consensus on that finding. And yet, the world refuses to act. If the UNGA does not take action now, under Uniting for Peace, to deploy a protection force and sanction Israel, it will fade into irrelevance. What are you waiting for?”]

Drop Site News reports: “The Sumud Flotilla’s fleet from both Barcelona and Tunisia is currently sailing west of the island of Malta.”

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Ireland, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Pakistan, Qatar, Oman, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain and Türkiye just issued a joint statement expressing “their concern about the security of the Global Sumud Flotilla, a civil society initiative in which citizens of their countries are participating.”

The Global Sumud Flotilla “is the largest civilian maritime mission organized to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza. Coordinated by grassroots organizers, seafarers, doctors, artists, and solidarity activists from over 40 countries, the flotilla is a nonviolent humanitarian mission responding to the ongoing genocide and siege against the Palestinian people.” See on X and Instagram

See from Al Jazeera: “Global Sumud Flotilla sets sail from Tunisia to break Gaza blockade” which reports: “Its departure was delayed after two flotilla vessels came under attack.”

Those participating in the flotilla include parliament members from Europe, Mandla Mandela from South Africa, Greta Thunberg from Sweden and two U.S. veterans:

See Stoker’s videos: “Since January 18, 2024, Gaza’s waters have been declared a no-go zone by Israeli military, banning all fishing, swimming, and sea access and killing people who enter the water.” Also: “The final assault on Gaza City is not a military action in the conventional sense: it’s a real estate and natural resource land-grab.”
