Israel Killing 100 Palestinians a Day; 1,844 Strikes on Healthcare, 2,792 Infants and Toddlers Dead

AP reports Wednesday: “The director of the Indonesian Hospital, Dr. Marwan al-Sultan, was killed in an apartment in an Israeli strike west of Gaza City, a hospital statement said. The hospital is the Palestinian enclave’s largest medical facility north of Gaza City and has been a critical lifeline since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. The hospital was surrounded by Israeli troops last month, and evacuated alongside the other two primary hospitals in northern Gaza. The bodies of the doctor, his wife, daughter and son-in-law, arrived at Shifa Hospital torn into pieces, according to Issam Nabhan, head of the nursing department at the Indonesian Hospital.” The Guardian reports: “Marwan al-Sultan, a renowned cardiologist and director of the Indonesian hospital, is the 70th healthcare worker to be killed by Israeli attacks in the past 50 days, says Palestinian medical organisation.”

Reuters reports: “Over 170 charities call for end to deadly new Gaza aid distribution system” about the U.S. government funded so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” — described as overseeing “a killing field” by an Israeli soldier.

“That is why we — along with American and British health-care workers who’ve worked in Gaza, American senators and representatives, lawyers and civil servants in the Joe Biden administration and the UK, U.N. experts, and Holocaust and genocide scholars — have been begging the United States to stop providing the weapons Israel has used not just to attack one hospital in Gaza but to demolish the strip’s entire health-care system. Indeed, over the past 20 months Israel, fully backed by the United States, has abandoned any pretense of respecting the protections enjoyed by hospitals under international law. …

“Israeli forces have struck health-care facilities and personnel in Gaza at least 1,844 times, killing hundreds of patientsand health-care workers.
