Former UN official Craig Mokhiber posted: “The same toxic alliance between Christian nationalism and Israeli Zionism that has corrupted U.S. politics for decades now appears poised to destroy the 83-year-old experiment that is Lebanese independence. If the Lebanese government enters into a devil’s pact with the U.S.-Israel Axis to attack its own people and to surrender its own sovereignty on behalf of the Israeli regime, this will be the beginning of the end for Lebanon. Israel is betting it can provoke a civil war, and then sit on the sidelines laughing as Lebanon bleeds. Only Lebanese unity will preserve its independence and save it from the tyranny of the U.S.-Israel Axis. Not sectarianism. Not Western meddling. Not Lebanese complicity. Not surrender. Unity.”
Dyab Abou Jahjah of the The Hind Rajab Foundation notes the Israeli soldier “Daniel Ella, commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Brigade, was severely injured in combat in Lebanon today. He leads the battalion responsible for the killing of Hind Rajab. We have filed a case against him before the ICC.”
