Amro is based in Hebron on the West Bank and is founder of Youth Against Settlements. He has been regularly threatened, harrased and detained by the Israeli military and settlers for his nonviolent activities such as making films and attempting to prevent home takeovers.
He said: “There is an unofficial, unannounced displacement policy for the Palestinians in the West Bank by the Israeli government. They gave fanatic settlers army uniforms and weapons to attack Palestinians in H2 in Hebron and Area C .
“The Israeli army closed the West Bank completely, no movement is allowed. In H2 in Hebron, the Israeli army is imposing [a] curfew on the families. Many families left their homes and many communities from area C left too.
“Palestinians in the West Bank don’t feel safe and terrified because of the settlers violence and Israeli army brutality.”
He is posting on X: “Shocking video. More are videos coming out which shows how Palestinian workers are detained and dehumanized by the Israeli military. The majority of the detainees are tortured and dehumanized. I was one of them.”
There have been a series of demonstrations around the world in solidarity with Palestine. A march in DC is planned for Nov. 4. Amro just posted a “Call for global action for Palestine. Global strike. November 6th.”
He reports: “130 Palestinians” have been “killed in West Bank for protesting against the War in Gaza” and shows a video of one such child.
